Strategic Alliances & Partnerships

The Davie County Economic Development Commission has created a dynamic and growth-oriented business climate through a spirit of partnership with the local business community, local and state governments, and a network of economic development partners. These partnerships are an important part of how businesses thrive in Davie County, North Carolina. Highlights of a few of these partnerships follow.

Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina 

The EDPNC helps businesses large and small succeed in North Carolina. We recruit new businesses to the state, support the growth of existing NC businesses, help manufacturers sell into international markets, provide startup assistance to entrepreneurs, and market the state as a premier travel destination.

Piedmont Triad Partnership

Founded in 1991, the Piedmont Triad Partnership (PTP) is a leadership organization bringing together the business community in the Triad region to promote prosperity and growth.

Piedmont Triad Regional Council

The Piedmont Triad Regional Council (PTRC) engages with all communities in the Piedmont Triad on various community and economic development projects. PTRC offers two revolving loan programs, guidance related to qualified Opportunity Zones.

  • Operating two revolving loan fund programs, The Business Investment Fund and Micro-Loan Recovery Program;
  • Cultivating food system enhancement activities through the Triad Food Council;
  • Offering guidance related to Qualified Opportunity Zones;
  • Coordinating Regional Outdoor Recreation enhancement activities;
  • Managing a Regional Brownfield Redevelopment Program;
  • Hosting meetings and information summits; and
  • Providing Grant Administration/Writing for State, Local, and Federal Programs.

The Golden LEAF Foundation

The Golden LEAF Foundation is a nonprofit organization established in 1999 to receive a portion of North Carolina’s funding received from the 1998 Master Settlement Agreement with cigarette manufacturers. 

The economic development projects funded through the Golden LEAF Foundation focus on creating and retaining jobs, attracting new businesses, expanding industries, and training new workers. The Foundation seeks to involve companies that are committed to hiring or retaining workers, as well as projects that demonstrate a market demand for products. Funds for public infrastructure improvement projects tied to specific job creation and retention opportunities are also possible.

North Carolina Rural Center

The NC Rural Center’s mission is to develop, promote, and implement sound economic strategies to improve the quality of life of rural North Carolinians. We serve the state’s 80 rural counties, with a special focus on individuals with low to moderate incomes and communities with limited resources.

The Rural Center delivers critical resources to support existing businesses and enable the emergence of successful, new entrepreneurs. The Rural Center works with individuals trying to start or expand a small business by connecting them to the critical capital, coaching, and connections they need.
