$6.7 million investment will bring plastic injection molding operation to Davie County
Aluma-Form, a longtime U.S. manufacturer serving the electric utility and communications industries, is establishing a new manufacturing operation in Mocksville, bringing an expected $6.7 million capital investment and more than 100 jobs to Davie County.
The Memphis, Tennessee-based company will locate its plastic injection molding operation at 111 CPP Global Drive in Mocksville, where it plans to manufacture engineered plastic components supporting the utility and electrical distribution industries.
Aluma-Form expects the Mocksville operation to run three shifts, five days a week, and hopes to begin production by the end of 2026. Hiring is already underway.
“Of all the communities we considered, Davie County was the most welcoming,” said Rodney Keyes, regional operations manager. “The Mocksville facility gives us the equipment, space, infrastructure and access to skilled resources we need today, while also giving us room to grow. Just as important, we found a community where people work together to support business, workforce development and long-term growth. It really felt like the right fit for Aluma-Form.”
Existing Facility and Rail Access Help Attract Investment
Established in 1961 as the first manufacturer of aluminum transformer platforms, Aluma-Form has grown into a privately held company specializing in innovative, custom-engineered overhead utility and communications solutions. Its products include aluminum, fiberglass, wood and polymer-based components used in electrical distribution systems.
The company has experienced significant growth in recent years, more than doubling its capacity over the past two to three years, according to Keyes.
As part of that growth, Aluma-Form is moving its plastic injection molding operation from Orangeburg, South Carolina, to Mocksville. The Orangeburg facility will continue its sheet metal fabrication operations.
The availability of an existing injection molding facility played an important role in bringing the project to Davie County. The approximately 130,000-square-foot facility also offers a feature particularly important to Aluma-Form: direct rail access.
An existing rail spur provides an efficient, cost-effective way to bring raw materials directly to the plant. The property also offers manufacturing and warehouse space, existing injection molding equipment that Aluma-Form hopes to repurpose, and room for future growth.

I’m excited to see new life brought to this facility and to welcome Aluma-Form as a new corporate citizen creating opportunities for the people of Davie County.”
Workforce Resources Support New Operation
Beyond the building itself, Aluma-Form found the workforce resources and business environment needed to support its new operation. Access to professionals experienced in plastic injection molding, nearby laboratories, training resources and workforce development partners contributed to the company’s decision.
Through the North Carolina Community College System and Davidson-Davie Community College, the company will have access to customized workforce training for eligible employees. Aluma-Form has also been approved for NC Job Ready workforce funding to assist with recruitment, hiring, outreach and training activities.
The project is also expected to benefit from manufacturing-related tax exemptions available under North Carolina law.
Together, these resources complement Aluma-Form’s approximately $6.7 million capital investment and will help the company develop the specialized workforce required for its growing manufacturing operation.
More Than 100 Jobs Planned
Aluma-Form expects to employ more than 100 people in Mocksville as the operation reaches capacity.
Positions are expected to span a variety of manufacturing and support functions, including plastic injection molding machine operators and technicians, processing engineers, industrial and facility maintenance, quality assurance and inspection, warehousing and other operations roles.
The company is particularly interested in applicants with prior experience in plastic injection molding.
