Lithuania’s SBA Home North Carolina has begun production at its 500,000-square-foot factory in the Davie Industrial Center in Mocksville.

SBA Brings $70 Million Furniture Factory and 250 Jobs to Mocksville

Davie County continues to grow as a hub for advanced manufacturing with the arrival of SBA Home, one of Lithuania’s largest business groups. The company has officially launched its first U.S. furniture manufacturing plant in Mocksville, marking a major milestone for both the global company and our local economy. The $70 million facility has successfully produced its first batch of furniture, meeting all quality standards and beginning full-scale production.

A Milestone for Lithuania and Davie County

“This is a tremendous achievement not only for SBA Group and our team, but also for Lithuania as a whole,” says Jurgita Radzevičė, CEO of SBA Home, which operates four factories in Lithuania. “We have started completing the largest Lithuanian business investment project in the U.S. and met the extremely tight deadlines set at the start of the project. It proves that even in times of uncertainty, with the right expertise, dedication, and detailed planning, it is possible to achieve even the most ambitious goals.”

Terry Bralley, president of the Davie County Economic Development Commission, adds, “Welcoming SBA Home to Mocksville is a proud moment for our community. This investment brings hundreds of high-quality jobs, strengthens our manufacturing base, and highlights Davie County as a destination for global business. It’s exciting to see our workforce and infrastructure supporting a company with such an international reputation.”

$70 Million Investment Creates 250 Jobs

The new SBA Home North Carolina plant is expected to create approximately 250 jobs in Davie County, offering an average annual wage of $53,470—well above the county average. Positions range from manufacturing and warehousing to administrative and managerial roles, potentially contributing more than $13.3 million annually to the local economy in payroll.

North Carolina was chosen for its strategic location, access to raw materials, highly skilled workforce, and strong furniture manufacturing tradition. The state’s favorable conditions for global investment made it an ideal site for SBA’s first U.S. factory.

Combining Lithuanian Expertise and Local Talent

The 500,000-square-foot facility completed equipment installation earlier this summer, followed by extensive testing to ensure production meets SBA Home’s high standards. Experienced professionals from Lithuania—including equipment operators, automation engineers, electricians, and mechanical technicians—joined local employees to support a smooth start-up.

“The start-up phase was absolutely critical,” adds Radzevičė. “That’s why we assembled a top-tier team of professionals from both Lithuania and the U.S. to ensure everything ran as efficiently as possible. I’m deeply grateful to everyone for their commitment and hard work.”

Advanced, High-Tech Manufacturing

SBA Home North Carolina is designed to be highly automated, producing roughly 380 pieces of furniture per hour. The plant combines robotics with skilled human oversight to create a modern, efficient production environment, mirroring the company’s advanced facilities in Lithuania.

A trusted IKEA supplier for more than 30 years, the Mocksville facility will expand this relationship by producing new collections of customizable shelving units, including the popular Kallax storage cubes and Billy bookcases.

SBA Home: A Global Furniture Leader

SBA Home, the largest division of Lithuania’s SBA Grupe UAB, exports furniture to 50 countries and employs more than 3,000 people across four factories. Producing over 800 furniture products—including wood veneer furniture, cabinets, sofas, and armchairs—the company reported €389 million ($411 million) in furniture sales in 2022. IKEA has been a primary customer for more than 30 years.

The Mocksville facility will serve as a 24/7 production center for ready-to-assemble furniture, expanding the company’s long-standing partnership with IKEA. The plant will manufacture popular products such as Kallax storage cubes and Billy bookcases for the U.S. market, supporting both growth and innovation in furniture manufacturing.
